FRIENDS OF PATAKA
The PATAKA Gallery has a renowned and respected place in New Zealand's art scene and an international reputation. The FRIENDS of PATAKA was established to celebrate and support the Gallery. FRIENDS are provided with a range of special opportunities while at the same time supporting and heralding the work of the Gallery. The FRIENDS group provides a background for the enjoyment and understanding of the range of exhibitions and activities that PATAKA presents.

Becoming a FRIEND
The gallery benefits all who visit but as a FRIEND you have the opportunity to become more closely involved with PATAKA's exhibitions. Talk to the artists, go to special exhibition previews and floor talks, and meet others who share your passion for arts and culture in Porirua City.
FRIENDS receive:
- a 10% dscount at the Pataka Gallery Store
- Discounted entry to ticketed events
- A FRIENDS coffee card for Kaizen - every sixth cup free
- Annual tours to other Galleries and exhibitions

Art-2-Go - is the FRIENDS sponsored talk every Friday at 12.15pm at Pataka.
ART-2-GO talk Virginia King - Nautulis Whispers
August 27. Natalie Evans-Peillard will talk about paintings inspired by a visit to the Chatham Island, and the paintings for the visually impaired also in the Chatham Islands exhibition.

Box Art
All the boxes have been registered and the exhibtion will take place in the Blue Pacific Galley, Pataka from SAturday 23 October - Sunday 21 November.
During the exhibition the 'box art ' will be bid on in a silent auction - this will go live for the last few hours.
The Final Auction Party
Sunday afternoon 21 November 'live' in the spine with Kim Hill as the auctioneer.
25% of the proceeds will go to the Friends of Pataka to start a fund for an Artist in Residence programme.

FRIENDS NEWS
The 2010 Annual General Meeting will be held in the Helen Smith Meeting Room at Pataka 7.30pm Monday 18 October, 2010.
The Committee elected at the 2009 Annual General Meeting was: President Barbara Marshall, Vice President Gay Hay
Committee: Rhys Richards, June Penman, Meryll Evans, Karen Ross, Dennis Hamblin, Priscilla Isaacs, Debbie Noon, Jennie Sherwin and Anneke Borrin. Since resigned: Jenny Sherwin and Priscilla Isaacs

The Friends Garden
The Friends garden within the Pataka grounds provides a restful space for visitors.
 

In March 2009 the FRIENDS purchased a Pauline Morse painting, which will be hung in the Te Rauparaha Arena.
